About CLASC

The Clear Lake Area Ski Club (CLASC) is a non-profit, member-operated social club that promotes the sports of snow skiing & snowboarding by offering trips to ski resorts throughout the world. We also offer other adventure travel trips which have included: bicycle touring in Holland, rafting in the Grand Canyon and scuba diving in Fiji. In addition we offer exotic tours to locations such as Costa Rica, Egypt, South Africa and the Galapagos Islands.

Activities & Community Involvement...

We sponsor many other year-round activities which include a shrimp boil, dinner and movie nights, concert & museum outings, wine tasting, and monthly happy hours. We annually host a Holiday Party in December, and a farewell to the ski season party, which we call Winter Wake, in the spring.

Background...

CLASC was organized in 1973 by a group of Clear Lake Area skiers, most of whom worked at the NASA Johnson Space Center. The club currently includes over 100 members encompassing a wide cross-section of the community. The Club is also an active member of the Texas Ski Council (TSC), which represents skiers and adventure travelers throughout Texas.

Join in the fun…

Membership in the CLASC is open to anyone (singles, families, couples, students) interested in joining us. The CLASC Officers and members invite you to attend our monthly meetings, normally held on the first Friday of the month from September through March. The guest fee of $2 will be applied toward your membership if you decide to join the night of the meeting. A social hour is from 6:30 – 7:30 PM, with the meeting and program beginning at 7:30 PM.
